Job Description
Patient Accounts Representative (Remote)
Help Patients Stay on Track—Financially & Physically
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC) is hiring a Patient Accounts Representative who knows how to have real conversations—not just make calls. If you're someone who can balance empathy with accountability and help people take action, this role is for you.
This is a fully remote, patient-facing role focused on connecting with patients, resolving balances, and supporting their care journey across our 38 outpatient physical therapy clinics.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t a high-volume, script-reading collections job.
You’ll be:
- Talking to patients who are actively in care
- Helping them understand their balances and options
- Playing a key role in keeping their treatment on track
Your ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and guide patients to resolution makes a real impact on their health outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Make outbound calls to patients currently receiving care to resolve account balances
- Take inbound calls and answer patient billing questions with clarity and professionalism
- Process payments and update accounts accurately
- Work assigned accounts using reporting tools to prioritize follow-up
- Document all activity and coordinate updates with billing and clinic teams
- Identify and communicate insurance or account changes
What Success Looks Like
You’re someone who:
- Is comfortable having direct, respectful financial conversations
- Can stay positive and professional, even when conversations are tough
- Knows how to move a conversation toward resolution, not just “leave a voicemail”
- Takes ownership of your accounts and follows through
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in collections, patient accounts, and outbound calling
- Strong customer service mindset (empathetic, not transactional)
- Confident communicator—clear, calm, and persuasive
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
- Tech-savvy: comfortable navigating multiple systems, Excel, and Microsoft Office
About PTSMC
At PTSMC, we’re a community-driven physical therapy practice committed to delivering exceptional care and service. We believe great patient outcomes start with great communication—both in the clinic and behind the scenes.
You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and making a real difference in people’s lives.
Why You’ll Want This Role
- Fully remote work environment
- Supportive, team-oriented culture
- A role where your communication skills truly matter
- Opportunity to grow within a respected healthcare organization
If you’re someone who can turn a difficult conversation into a productive one—and genuinely enjoy helping people—we want to hear from you.
