Job Description
Balanced Body is the world's largest designer and manufacturer of Pilates equipment, doing business in over 100 countries — and we're looking for an experienced HR Generalist who's genuinely energized by the challenge of supporting people across borders. This role sits close to our workforce every day, so if you light up when resolving a tricky employee relations issue or untangling multi-country compliance, this is your kind of job.
WHAT WE NEED MOST
Global / International HR Experience
You've supported a multi-country workforce and can navigate cross-border employment practices with confidence — this is a must-have, not a nice-to-have.
Employee Relations Depth
You have real, hands-on experience as the point person for conflict resolution and workplace investigations — this is the core of the role, not a side responsibility.
Beyond those two priorities, you'll bring broad HR range — performance management, training & development, recruiting, safety & compliance, and policy management round out the role. You'll report to the HR Director, partner across every level of the company, and help build an HR experience people actually appreciate.
What you'll do
- Employee Relations — Be the go-to for employees and leaders on inquiries, conflict resolution, and conduct investigations. This is where you'll spend real time and make real impact.
- Performance Management — Facilitate the performance evaluation process, coach and train leaders on evaluations, and support them through delivery.
- Training & Development — Identify training needs, build and deliver programs, and audit certifications — including ETP training plans and safety training in partnership with our EHS officer.
- Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding — Help keep job descriptions current, review resumes, coordinate interviews, and track candidates through our applicant system, plus support onboarding.
- Offboarding — Guide leaders through terminations with care and compliance, and participate in exit interviews.
- Global Workforce Analytics — Generate and present KPIs like turnover and hiring metrics, and analyze workforce data across our global footprint to shape HR strategy.
- Maintain and audit physical and electronic employment files.
- Compliance — Track compliance with federal, state, and local employment law, and recommend and refine policy as regulations shift.
- Respond to employment verifications and EDD claims.
- Partner on annual compensation analysis and benefits administration.
- Culture & Celebration — Help plan the events that make the company feel like a team — monthly appreciation activities, the summer picnic, and the holiday party.
- Pitch in wherever else the team needs you — priorities here shift, and that's part of the fun.
What you Bring
- 8+ years of HR experience — including a minimum of 4 years focused specifically on employee relations. This is the heart of the role.
- 3+ years in progressive, international/global HR practice — you've genuinely worked across borders, not just adjacent to them.
- Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred.
- Track record designing and delivering training programs, with real comfort presenting to groups.
- Solid grasp of US labor law (FLSA, OSHA, FMLA); multi-state experience (CA, TN, CO, OR) preferred.
- International HR compliance experience is preferred — you know how HR looks different outside the US and can navigate it.
- Experience managing an HRIS.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort holding confidentiality.
- Self-directed, fast-paced, and able to prioritize with urgency when deadlines demand it.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Work Schedule
Onsite, full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for occasional early or late calls to connect with colleagues across time zones.
