The Human Resources Generalist partners with managers and employees to support the day-to-day HR needs of New Era Cap’s Production Facility in Opa-Locka, FL. This role provides broad-based support across employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll, benefits, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement. In addition to site-based responsibilities, this position provides support for select broader HR processes, including leave administration, onboarding coordination, and other HR operational activities as needed.


The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing and be on-site 5 days a week. A portion of the interview process will be conducted in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Opa-Locka Production Facility

Maintain a visible HR presence on the facility floor by regularly engaging with employees and remaining available to address questions and concerns.Process the full-cycle recruiting efforts for the Opa-Locka facility.Conduct new hire orientation and support managers throughout the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and welcoming employee experience.Support payroll administration by ensuring timecards and PTO requests are reviewed and approved accurately and on time.Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including assisting during open enrollment and responding to employee questions.Plan and execute wellness and employee engagement initiatives for the Florida office, including developing program plans, managing budgets, partnering with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring successful implementation of activities and events.Support managers and HR leadership in addressing employee performance and conduct issues, including preparing documentation and participating in meetings. Helps to execute and ensure the performance management process is followed and that managers provide timely, effective feedback to employees.Coach and consult with managers and employees on employee relations matters, including assessing issues, recommending next steps, and drafting employee communications and corrective documentation as needed.Support the implementation and communication of HR policies and assist with policy updates as needed.Maintain employees files and I-9 documentation and support employment eligibility compliance activities in partnership with HR leadership. Provide translation support from English to Spanish for HR presentations and employee communications to promote clear and inclusive messaging.Support learning and development initiatives for employees and managers.Coordinate and deliver health and safety training.Manage the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and supporting a smooth separation experience.

Corporate Human Resources, supporting employees in the U.S. and Canada

Administers the company-wide leave of absence process in partnership with the HR team and external vendors.Coordinate onboarding for new hires across the U.S. and Canada, including conducting background checks, distributing onboarding documentation, maintaining communication with new employees, and coordinating key meetings and stakeholder participation.Support the compensation processes by gathering data and assisting with job and pay-related requests.Ensure accident reports, investigations, and ergonomic reviews are completed in a timely manner.Support employees throughout the Workers’ Compensation claim process and monitor work activity in alignment with medical restrictions and physician recommendations.Maintain records for OSHA incidents, including tracking both recordable and non-recordable cases.Support special projects by gathering information, organizing information, tracking timelines, and completing assigned deliverables.Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies by escalating issues as appropriate.Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Perform other duties and special assignments as needed.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bilingual in Spanish is required, both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partnerships and meet the needs of internal customers.Ability to provide day-to-day guidance and support to employees and managers. Ability to effectively influence others.Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving and task execution.Maintains a high level of confidentiality.Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and applicable regulations.Knowledge of and experience with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, Paid Family Leave, disability, and Workers’ Compensation.Foundational understanding of payroll and benefits.Ability to interview candidates and guide candidates and hiring managers through the talent acquisition process.Ability to handle employee relations issues and conduct investigations.Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize activities.Positive, enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.2-4 years of human resources generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production setting.Experience supporting the talent acquisition process, performance management, employee relations, including investigations, and partnering with managers is required.Experience administering leaves of absence is preferred.Experience working with an HRIS, preferably ADP Workforce Now.


Travel Requirement

Up to 10%; domestic This role is 100% on-site, encouraging employees to collaborate and connect in person five days a week.


The salary range for this posted position is $62,000 - $73,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Florida. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
