About the role
The Welder performs MIG welding on various metals, ensuring all work meets structural and visual standards. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting welds, maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols. Accurate job tracking and a commitment to a safe, organized workspace are essential.
This is a new position being staffed which requires the individual to be onsite five(5) days a week, Monday - Friday 2:30PM to 11:00PM.
What you'll do
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of metals normally requiring standard welds.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all welds meet structural and aesthetic standards.
- Inspect welded surfaces for flaws and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Record materials used and hours worked for job tracking as required during working hours.
- Work collaboratively and safely with colleagues in cross-functional roles and departments for related projects.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Welding certificate is required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of measuring tools, including calipers, tape measures, straightedges, etc.
- Experience completing checklists for product completion
- Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
- Experience reviewing products for deviations and/or non-conformities
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and instructions
- Relevant welding experience is considered an asset.
Work Conditions
- Working in a manufacturing environment daily
- Remain alert for extended periods, paying keen attention to detail
- Ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 lbs)
