The Grants & Contracts Specialist will report to the Grants & Contracts Manager at 8 East 109, New York, NY 10029. This full-time, nonexempt position is a crucial part of our team, supporting the recordkeeping functions related to government grants.
Responsibilities:
Oversee government grant accounts receivable (A/R) in FEZ, including tracking payments and addressing voucher-related inquiries with funding agencies.
Work closely with the Development team to ensure accurate reconciliation of donor revenue with bank deposits.
Support the Grants and Contracts Manager in preparing government grant vouchers by coordinating with program directors to gather and organize required documentation.
Maintain organized and up-to-date grant and contract agreements in the shared folder system
Retrieve and organize accounts receivable, grant, and contract data to support the Finance team in responding to auditor requests during financial audits.
Provide administrative support for the annual budget process as directed by the Senior Director of Finance or the Controller.
Update and prepare schedules for government grant and contract accounts receivable as needed.
Ensure the accurate tagging of government grant and contract expenses in FEZ for effective tracking, adhering to established procedures.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is required.
At least two (2) years of experience in a similar field or position is required, preferably in a not-for-profit organization.
Commitment to helping the communities in need and NYCP’s work and mission.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite Office and/or G-Suite.
Excellent communication skills and judgment with the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow through and maintain accurate records.
Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Pay: $31.78/hourly - $34.62/hourly, commensurate with experience
