About This Position
Job purpose
The Warehouse Manager plays an important leadership role at Dempsey Corporation. You will work in a fast-paced food ingredient/chemical additive storage warehouse, and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day shipping/receiving and inventory management operations. You will give direction, train new employees, and be responsible for the overall operation of the warehouse.
Duties and responsibilities
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by leading by example
- Adhere to HACCP/FSEP food safety principles, and policies and promote them among all
- Maintain and foster attitudes toward a safe work environment and promote the JHSC mandate
- Oversee and direct the daily work of your team
- Takes initiative to prioritize or shift resources to meet goals
- Ensure all equipment is operating properly, maintained, and logged-documented, and take appropriate actions to correct any issues
- Oversight of the 5S program engaging their team to participate in maintaining a clean work environment to the highest standard
- Provide regular written feedback, set objectives, and host performance reviews for your team
- Adhere to and assist in maintaining our registered ISO 9001:2015 quality system program of policies and work instructions
- Assist in evaluating the quality of work of team members.
- Take initiative to order supplies/material required for daily operations and for minor repairs to building/equipment
- Organizes and delivers daily morning meetings to ensure effective departmental communications
- Directly helps the department to meet targets and goals
- Advocates and follows all written policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Leads, coaches, and contributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way
- Act as a backup where required and ensures all team’s activities are covered at all times
- Effectively Interface with Customer Service, Procurement, and other department teams as necessary
- Provide labor support to the Food Safety Specialist as required
- Provide labor support to the Beauty division as required
- Monitors and ensures all Health & Safety and Warehouse logs and devices are in place, working, on time, and accurate
- Responsible for the WMS and Contribute to KPI data gathering and presentation of data
- Maintains productivity that meets expectations through KPI data gathering and presentation
- Continuously promote our corporate culture and company core values to your team
- Other responsibilities and special projects as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in a supervisory/manager role
- Minimum 3 years experience in Reach and Counterbalance
- Proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP & WMS
- Able to learn quickly, problem-solve, and work efficiently
- A college diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration preferred
