This is a remote data-focused role for a professional passionate about database administration, performance, and data platform reliability. You will work in a dynamic environment supporting data infrastructure that enables analytics, integration, and business intelligence initiatives. The position involves hands-on management of relational and NoSQL databases, with a strong emphasis on PostgreSQL and MongoDB ecosystems. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable and secure data environments. The role also includes building and maintaining data pipelines and ensuring high availability and performance across systems. Collaboration with data engineering and analytics teams will be key to delivering reliable and efficient data solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of database environments while supporting the evolution of data platforms and pipelines. You will contribute to best practices in data administration, implement automation and monitoring routines, and ensure the reliability of both structured and unstructured data systems.
- Implement security routines and protocols across database environments, ensuring compliance and data protection
- Define and promote best practices for data administration within the organization
- Build and maintain data pipelines from multiple sources into data lakes using tools such as Python, Apache Airflow, and Data Factory
- Support, monitor, and optimize data platforms to ensure availability and performance
- Install, configure, maintain, and update DBMS systems and related administrative interfaces
- Ensure database integrity, backup consistency (including PITR processes), and high availability standards
- Monitor performance and tune databases to optimize efficiency and scalability
- Manage access controls and contribute to information security and risk mitigation
- Conduct routine capacity planning and environment health checks
This position requires solid experience in database administration and data engineering practices, with strong technical expertise in both relational and NoSQL technologies. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in agile, data-driven environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data-related fields, or equivalent experience
- Around 4 years of experience in data-related roles using agile methodologies
- Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) for relational and multidimensional systems
- Hands-on experience administering DBMS such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB
- Knowledge of data architecture components such as Elasticsearch, Hadoop, and Kafka
- Experience with backup strategies, including PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery)
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, and data programming
- Experience implementing database security protocols and performance tuning
- Knowledge of version control for scripts and data-related development artifacts
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in complex environments
