Job Description
The Emergency Department Technician is under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The ED Tech assists with delegated nursing tasks as performed in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and the Louisiana State Law and Nurse Practice Act governing unlicensed personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Department of Nursing Orientation.
- Successful completion of Emergency Department Tech orientation with ED educator and completion of skills checklist with ED Tech preceptor.
- Completion of EMT or Nurse Aide Course (nursing school, medical school, previous hospital or military experience may substitute for this requirement) (preferred).
