About This Position

General Manager- Northeast / Michigan

Travel: Daily travel within the Greater Detroit area with occasional travel elsewhere within the 1-4 hour radius service area. One annual conference trip for 3-4 days.

TO GENERAL MANAGER

About Valicor:

Headquartered in Monroe, Ohio. Valicor is the largest provider of non-hazardous wastewater treatment services in North America. Leveraging its extensive fleet of tankers and a network of strategically located centralized wastewater treatment (“CWT”) facilities, the Company transports and processes diverse wastewater streams that result from the manufacture of industrial and consumer goods. The Company’s mission-critical services allow customers to meet federal, state, and local regulations by safely and responsibly disposing of oily water, leachate, soaps, line flush waste, and similar waste streams and it also provides a diverse set of landfill solidification, product destruction, and retail oil services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all three facilities and respective fleets meet Environmental, Health & Safety, and Security Standards
  • Direct interface with Regulators
  • Direct oversight and management of facility operations
  • Responsible for Facility P&L reporting, variance explanations, and financial forecasting.
  • Oversight of local teams’ Fleet operations to achieve both facility and fleet excellence
  • Serves as the front-line technical resource in process troubleshooting, application of technological, operational, or engineering changes
  • Identifies and justifies capital expenditures
  • Work with Sales Team to improve customer satisfaction and experience, and grow a profitable business
  • Support Business Case Development for projects -- estimate capital, expense, and human resource requirements

  • Understanding accrual based P&L Statements as well as ability to properly budget and forecast
  • Utilize computer-based management systems efficiently
  • Large maintenance Project Management
  • Understanding of physical & chemical treatment processes commonly used in Industrial Wastewater Operations
  • Understanding of acids, bases, and other chemical interactions
  • Ability to support company Health & Safety programs
  • Understanding of Environmental Compliance related to industrial waste water operations
  • Familiarity with fleet management, DOT regulations, and logistics
  • Ability to coach and develop team members at varying performance levels

  • Strong PC skills and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software and the ability to optimize the use of technology and systems to streamline processes and increase efficiency

Experience Preferences

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive Management Experience in a related business or technical field
  • Previous experience with management of industrial wastewater & air permits, RCRA & Haz Waste Classifications.
  • Previous experience with industrial wastewater treatment
  • Previous Management of Multiple teams across multiple work sites
  • Maintenance Management & CMMS usage

Educational / Certification Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent environmental experience

Successful candidates must pass the Pre-Screening process if offered this position. This includes a criminal background check, drug screen, and MVR check (if applicable for the position).
