About St Andrews Kitchen
Nestled in the quiet streets of St Andrews Beach (just a 10-minute drive from the end of the Mornington Peninsula Freeway), we're a true community hidden gem. We offer silky smooth coffee, a daily-packed display cabinet of fresh produce, a full operating kitchen for hearty all-day meals, plus everyday staples and products from small local Peninsula businesses.
Open 7 days a week with no late nights – we're all about quality, local support, and great hospitality from 6am to 3:30pm.
About the Role
We're seeking a reliable, enthusiastic 2IC to lead our busy weekend shifts and support overall venue growth. This hands-on leadership role combines top-tier barista work, team supervision, operational oversight, and an all-rounder approach. You'll ensure smooth service, jump into any task, and bring ideas to help us thrive in our positive, tight-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
Produce consistently outstanding coffee and beverages with silky smooth barista skills
Oversee weekend operations for excellent customer service and efficient workflow
Supervise and guide team members (including younger staff), leading by example from dish pit to bathrooms
Handle opening/closing duties, cash management, cleanliness, inventory monitoring, and restocking
Take orders, serve food/drinks, manage transactions, and resolve customer inquiries professionally
Skills & Experience Required
At least 2 years supervisory/leadership experience in hospitality (or equivalent)
Minimum 12 months solid hands-on barista experience with consistent high-quality output
Strong all-rounder skills and willingness to tackle varied tasks (barista, service, light kitchen, retail, cleaning)
Excellent communication, organisation, quick thinking, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Passion for great coffee, customer service, local producers, and contributing to business growth

Availability & Hours
Primarily part-time focused on weekends (Saturdays & Sundays essential – non-negotiable). Shifts between 6:00am–3:30pm (no late nights!). Potential to discuss additional days or full-time based on fit.
