About This Position
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
Promote CPLC and its mission and programs throughout the State as required/requested. Provides support, coordination, and supervision of program participants. This position is responsible for outreach and recruitment, coaching of the program participant plan, providing occupational and skills training, coordinating services provided by Adult Basic Education providers, other educators as part of the YouthBuild program requirements, coordinating supportive services, and follow-up/retention services. Communicating regularly with educators, mentors, other professionals, generating reports, producing and maintaining comprehensive online, and/or physical case files. This position may also reach out to employers to set up company tours, job shadowing opportunities, coordinate with guest speakers/presenters, and invite employers to job fairs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain relations with funders
- Build and maintain working relations with community organizations, city, state, county, and federal agencies
- Assist in the coordination and development of program components
- Develop workable partnerships with opportunity youth and educational organizations where necessary
- Complete Quarterly Performance Reports and Annual reports before reporting deadlines
- Assist in involving the youth policy committee in program planning and operational decision making
- Develop and maintain an ongoing working relationship with the national YouthBuild office
- Collect data for any ongoing evaluation effort
- Assist in organization and coordination work of broad-based coalition supportive of YouthBuild goals
- Recruit and manage YouthBuild program participants
- Generate public interest in CPLC Workforce Solutions Programs, plans and implements outreach activities, and promotional campaigns
- Interview and conduct intake assessment including TABE assessment and collecting appropriate documents to complete enrollment requirements
- Coach participants in completing a participant plan that address barriers, implement education, employment, development, and training goals
- Meet monthly 1-on-1 with participants to support and update participant plan as necessary
- Update case notes & files per contractual and CPLC’s requirements
- Facilitate co-enrollment of participants with other workforce and social services programs
- Provide follow-up services after exit per program requirements
- Provides emergency assistance, crisis intervention, and referrals
- Develop and maintain working relationships with educational and community partners to establish referral networks
- Attend all organizational, departmental, contractual program meetings, trainings and events
- May perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
- Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences, Planning, Management, or related field and work experience in youth services or affordable housing preferred
- Two years or more of case management experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills and at least three years’ successful management or planning experience in a community-based setting
- Demonstrated skill in fundraising and/or program development
- Experience in working independently with excellent written and oral communication skills, public speaking, problem-solving, analytical skills, multi-tasking, organizational skills, leadership, and time management
- Must be capable of working with diverse cultural populations
- Leadership style which promotes teamwork and participation by staff at all levels
- Ability to manage time well to respond to tight deadlines
- Must have access to reliable transportation, hold a valid driver license and be able to travel to different locations throughout the state of New Mexico
- Have the cultural competency to engage effectively with the youth and their families
- Lead with vulnerability to cultivate trust
