Program Overview
Working alongside other members of the Physician Practice Supports (PPS) team, the Panel Management Assistant will ensure that clinic processes for panel identification, maintenance, management, as well as access are in place, widely understood and consistently followed. The Panel Management Assistant will ensure that each physician’s panel is kept accurate and clean in the electronic medical record system (EMR).
This role is based out of the Edmonton Community Health Hub location and is eligible for hybrid-remote after probationary period.
Position
Panel and Access Support
Working with the clinics team to ensure panel lists are clean and accurate by conducting regular panel reviews.Create saved searched/queries (report criteria or template) that allow consistent generation of panel lists withing the EMR.Proactively identify, report and reduce clinic panel gaps of screening of clients for both opportunistic and outreach care.Assist the clinic team to standardize reportable fields in the EMR and establish criteria for client status.Link clinic reporting to PCN aggregate reporting to meet the requirements of PCN evolution.Work with the EMR vendor to provide the clinic with all EMR updates, advanced usage and training.Assist clinic in weekly measurement and collection of the Time to Third Next Available Appointment.Support delivery, facilitation and development of training (e.g. workshops) for clinical support related to panel identification, panel management/screening, and access in a quality improvement context.Identify, offer, coordinate and document outreach for preventative screening and other care.
Department and Program Support
Providing feedback on the physician and clinic team responses on any PCN offerings.Increasing awareness and uptake of PCN events, activities, programs and services.Understanding, supporting, and communicating the messaging of the PCN to the members.Providing feedback to the PPS Manager on physician member perceptions of PCN messages and effectiveness of communications tools and tactics.Attend local PCN sponsored events where PCN member physicians are participating (e.g., CMEs, ADM, networking dinners, etc.)

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Completion of Medical Office Assistant or Administration Program required
Experience
3-5 years' experience working with a EMR’s (Healthquest, Med Access, AVA, CHR, Connect Care, etc.)Minimum of three (3) years of clinical reception experienceExperience with Panel Identification, Maintenance and ManagementExperience with physician’s clinical screening needs
