Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 CAD per annum

Position Summary
The Medical Care Coordinator (MCC) acts as the primary administrative and patient support resource within the clinic, ensuring smooth coordination between physicians, patients, and the wider care team.
What you will be doing:
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing professional and compassionate communication.
• Manage patient scheduling, including booking, rescheduling, and confirming appointments.
• Track and coordinate preventative care appointments (e.g., annuals, physicals, routine screenings, and follow-up care).
• Coordinate diagnostic imaging (DI), external referrals, and requisitions; track and follow up on results.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the EMR (CHR Connect).
• Support physicians with clinic workflow, appointment preparation, and follow-up communication.
• Triage patient requests (phone, email, portal messages) and direct appropriately.
• Ensure patients receive necessary forms, requisitions, and instructions.
• Collaborate with MCC Support for tracking requisitions, referrals, and lab work.
• Assist with patient onboarding and orientation to clinic programs and services.
• Handle confidential medical information in compliance with privacy standards.
• Manage inbox messages, faxing, scanning, and linking documents into patient charts.
• Provide status updates to patients regarding external appointments, tests, or requisitions.
• Communicate effectively with other departments (nursing, lab, administration) to ensure continuity of care.
• Support physicians by reducing administrative burden and optimizing clinical time.
• Room patients and prepare exam rooms for appointments.
• Clean and stock physician rooms, ensuring adequate supplies and a safe environment.
• Participate in team huddles, training sessions, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
You have:
• Previous experience in medical office administration, patient coordination, or a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems (CHR/TELUS Health preferred).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach.
The salary offered for this position falls within a specified salary range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific needs of the organization.
