The Role:

DC Operations Manager oversee and manage all operations of the Distribution Centers & 3PL operations in Canada ensuring key accountabilities with the Operational Framework SQCDPE (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Environment) and associated Key Performance Indicators.

  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the DC team promotes Mother Parkers values and builds on core competencies to achieve superior results.
  • Identify the productivity roadmap and deliver annual cost improvement targets.
  • Lead any discussions or opportunities related to footprint optimization.
  • Apply best practices, benchmarking, audit results and feedback from staff to define waste, standardize and improve process performance. Participate in the planning and execution of strategic and operational plans with the DC team and in collaboration with other functions through managing execution, measuring/monitoring results and bringing timely and appropriate course correction.
  • Support the development of annual departmental plan and goals based on the strategic plan and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly updates.
  • Embrace standard work and leverage continuous improvement principles to drive overall resources, labor and equipment, effectiveness and eliminate waste.
  • Conduct regular GEMBA walks on the floor with the intent of continuous improvement and promoting safety and quality.
  • With assistance and guidance from EHSS, develop health and safety objectives and assign them accordingly with strong adherence to Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
  • Accountable for inventory control including cycle counts with specific focus on operational and financial accuracy, as well as reporting programs to auditors.
  • Manage special projects such as X-dock, overflow storage, and special promotions. Define, direct and execute innovative and aggressive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives related to the distribution and warehousing processes.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators such as On Time Shipping, Dock to Stock and reporting to maximize profits of the total business, with keen focus on OTIF and Perfect Order across all shifts along with visual management.
  • Provide support for all Supply Chain ERP system design, testing, implementation and training.
  • Work closely with the Business & Technology Solutions team and Subject Matter Experts to develop a performance management system and dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with distribution standards as it relates to a food manufacturer, all food safety and general occupational safety standards, quality specifications, and transportation standards, local and governmental environmental requirements.
  • Ensure a high level of compliance with the internal systems including Safety, Quality and Environment to maintain the required certifications including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism () (CTPAT), and) Partners in Protection (PIP).
  • Promote knowledge sharing and align DC best practices across US and Canada.
  • Foster a “Can Do” attitude amongst the team members and collaborate closely with customer service, procurement, planning, sales and transportation.
  • Active People developers recognizes the importance of supporting the Individual Development and Succession/Talent Review processes to develop the production capability.
  • Lead by example and challenge, inspire the distribution team.
  • Conduct and ensure the timely completion of performance reviews.
  • Ensure employees adhere to legal, ethical and operational compliance requirements.
  • Ensure effective training and development of the distribution team.
  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve employee, company and customer results.


What you bring to the role:

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in leadership roles with keen focus on change management.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high functioning teams

  • Knowledge of operating systems Microsoft AX/D365, or similar, well versed in WMS and TMS functionality
  • Experience with a time management system, such as Kronos.
  • Sound administrative skills, advanced skill level with current office and applications software packages such as , Power Point, Word, and Excel.
