As a Senior Security Engineer on the Blue Team, you will protect critical systems by leading security assessments, enhancing threat detection capabilities, responding to security incidents, and building automation that improves operational efficiency. Working closely with engineering and infrastructure teams, you will play a key role in securing cloud environments, endpoints, and third-party integrations. - Conduct comprehensive security assessments of third-party vendors, applications, and external partners, identifying risks and evaluating overall security maturity.
- Design, develop, and maintain internal security tools, automation, and scripts that improve operational efficiency and strengthen the organization's security posture.
- Lead and support incident response activities by investigating, containing, remediating, and documenting security incidents across the organization.
- Enhance endpoint protection by implementing and optimizing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), application control, and threat detection capabilities.
- Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on AWS environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in security processes, monitoring capabilities, and defensive technologies while promoting security best practices across the organization.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience as a Security Engineer or in a comparable cybersecurity role.
- Hands-on experience performing third-party security assessments, vendor risk evaluations, and application security reviews.
- Strong programming experience, preferably with Rust, Python, PHP, or similar languages used for security tooling and automation.
- Experience securing macOS environments and cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Proven experience participating in incident response, threat investigation, and security operations.
- Solid understanding of endpoint security technologies, EDR platforms, and threat detection methodologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience using databases during security investigations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Experience with identity and access management solutions such as Okta, CrowdStrike Falcon, advanced database investigations, or similar security technologies is considered a strong advantage.
- Competitive base salary of $130,000–$185,000, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
