Position Summary:As a Solution Architect within the Retail Customer Success Team, you will combine technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and relationship management to design and deliver scalable, customer-centric EDI solutions. You will act as both a technical advisor and advocate for continuous improvement, ensuring a stable and adaptable solution foundation that drives business transformation and elevates the customer experience.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties

  • Collaborate with suppliers, retailers, and internal SPS teams to understand business requirements and design scalable, reliable EDI solutions.

  • Lead solution design workshops, translating customer needs into technical architectures and best practices.

  • Build and maintain collaborative operational relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring seamless solution delivery and alignment with business objectives.

  • Act as a technical escalation point, troubleshooting complex integration issues and proactively reducing support demand through data monitoring and customer engagements.

  • Advocate for continuous improvement, utilizing data insights and trends to prescribe solution enhancements and improve customer outcomes.

  • Lead or participate in multiple customer projects, managing priorities and adapting to shifting needs in a fast-paced environment.

  • Oversee the integration of EDI systems with customer ERP, TMS, or WMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), ensuring seamless data exchange.

  • Act as a liaison across departments, driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment on customer projects.

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and training materials to support both customers and internal teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Technical expertise in EDI protocols (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML), integration tools, and SaaS architecture. • Proven project leadership, analytical, and quality improvement skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in customer-facing roles with a focus on solution design and delivery.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and professionally represent SPS Commerce internally and externally.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based SaaS architecture and APIs.

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable and reliable solutions in customer-facing environments.

  • Experience working with ERP, Warehouse Management and/or Transportation systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc.

  • Experience working with XML, CSV and other application file formats

  • Systems consulting or systems implementation/migration experience

  • Familiarity with text editing and data transformation tools

  • Experience performing data analysis and/or data migration between systems

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office presence required at our Minneapolis office.

The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.

The annual salary range for this role is: $50,100- $75,200. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
