About This Position
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will drive measurable customer outcomes in a fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment to deliver high-quality cloud architecture project work, and proactively reduce repeat issues through clear documentation and continuous improvement. Day to day, you’ll balance project execution with SLA-driven support while partnering with Sales Engineers to help shape cloud architecture and define scope early, mitigating mid-project re-scoping. Success in this role is defined as delivering secure, scalable solutions that customers can operate with confidence, strong service performance (timely ticket closure and customer communication), consistent, accurate time entry, and reliably meeting target billable hours.
Core Functions
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud solutions and the supporting infrastructure for customers.Own the operational health of customer cloud platforms, including monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and implementation of preventative improvements.Optimize cloud environments for cost, scalability, and security. Troubleshoot and remediate cloud, network, device, and software issues within defined SLAs; engage vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues.Deliver assigned project work using Agile practices; planning, executing, and coordinating tasks to meet scope, timeline, and quality expectations.Partner with Sales Engineers to define technical scope and cloud architecture for customer projects, proactively reducing re-scoping after project kickoff.Maintain and expand technical expertise through ongoing training and pursuit of industry-recognized cloud certifications.Create clear, timely documentation in tickets (customer context, actions taken, and next steps) to support customer success and reduce repeat issues.Travel to customer sites across the Greater Minneapolis - St. Paul, Minnesota and Western Wisconsin areas on short notice using reliable transportation. This position may require shift work in a 24/7/365 environment and the capacity to work evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday as required.
Required qualifications
- 6+ years supporting customers, troubleshooting cloud service tickets, and delivering projects related to cloud infrastructure.Industry-recognized cloud engineering certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400. Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate for what you need to be successful in an assignment with customers and internal teams.Strong time-management skills with competing priorities; ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced MSP environment.Must be authorized to work in the United States.Driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred qualifications
- Multiple Microsoft Cloud certifications. 2+ years of Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience.
