Job Description

Head of Product

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Product based in the United States.

This is a hands-on product leadership role with end-to-end ownership of product and design in a fast-growing AI software environment.
You will lead a small, senior team while partnering closely with founders, engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders.
Your focus will be turning competing customer needs into clear strategic bets and decisive product priorities.
You will also strengthen delivery discipline, helping the organization ship high-quality products faster and learn continuously from customers.
The role requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing strategy, engaging directly with customers, and getting into technical details.
You’ll help build an AI-native product organization where AI is embedded into both the product experience and everyday ways of working.
This is an opportunity to shape a critical product function with significant autonomy, influence, and impact.

Accountabilities
  • Own product and design strategy end-to-end, translating customer needs, market dynamics, and business priorities into a focused portfolio of product bets.
  • Make clear prioritization decisions, including determining which opportunities should not be pursued, and establish a coherent product roadmap.
  • Improve product delivery predictability by ensuring teams ship committed work on time, at a high quality bar, and with increasing speed.
  • Lead and coach two Product Managers and a Design Lead, raising the quality of product thinking, execution, collaboration, and design across the organization.
  • Build an AI-native product and operating model by identifying where AI can create meaningful leverage in product development and team workflows.
  • Partner closely with founders and engineering leadership to establish clear decision rights, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive alignment around product and technical priorities.
  • Maintain strong customer proximity by developing reliable systems for collecting customer feedback, identifying meaningful signals, and translating insights into product decisions.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to maintain clarity around product direction, upcoming capabilities, timing, and customer impact.
  • Balance technical debt, product quality, development velocity, and long-term scalability when making product and engineering trade-offs.
  • Stay sufficiently technical to understand the codebase, prototype solutions, build lightweight tooling, and contribute credibly to technical discussions.
  • Establish clear written communication and decision-making practices that enable distributed teams to stay aligned across time zones.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading product at a growth-stage software company, ideally in customer research, data, developer tools, or another adjacent technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to own product and design functions end-to-end while remaining deeply involved in execution rather than operating solely as a strategic leader.
  • Strong track record of prioritizing competing customer and business demands, making difficult trade-offs, and converting ambiguity into clear decisions.
  • Experience managing and developing senior product and design professionals while maintaining a high bar for craft and execution.
  • Strong customer orientation, with a structured approach to gathering customer signals and distinguishing meaningful insights from noise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and operate reliable product delivery processes that improve speed without compromising quality.
  • Genuine AI-native mindset, with practical experience using AI to enhance product development, decision-making, analysis, or operational workflows.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to understand software architecture and codebases, prototype or implement lightweight solutions, and engage credibly with engineers on technical trade-offs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex decisions and recommendations clear to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong executive and founder partnership skills, including the confidence to challenge assumptions, make recommendations, and commit once decisions are made.
  • High ownership, bias toward action, strong judgment, and the ability to close open loops while maintaining momentum.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and equity.
  • Remote-first work environment with high trust and significant autonomy.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Annual team retreats and virtual team events.
  • Learning and professional development stipend.
  • Opportunity to shape and scale a critical product and design function.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI applications and the opportunity to influence how AI is incorporated into both products and workflows.
  • Collaborative environment centered on customer obsession, curiosity, high agency, and emotional intelligence.
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced founders, engineers, product leaders, and designers in a growth-stage organization.
