Principal Digital Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Digital Product Manager based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to define the vision and strategy for large-scale digital product ecosystems that power innovation across an enterprise environment.
You will lead the evolution of critical technology platforms, shaping roadmaps and delivering solutions that create measurable business and user value.
Working at the intersection of technology, product strategy, and user experience, you will influence how teams build and scale digital capabilities.
The position combines strategic leadership, product management expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
You will partner with engineering teams, business leaders, and technology stakeholders to drive transformation and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

The Principal Digital Product Manager will own the strategic direction, roadmap, and ongoing evolution of a portfolio of enterprise digital products. This role requires strong product leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to align teams around customer outcomes, business priorities, and scalable solutions.

  • Define and execute product vision, strategy, and annual commitments for a portfolio of digital products across cloud, compute, storage, and hosting capabilities.
  • Develop and manage strategic roadmaps while ensuring continuous alignment with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Conduct market and user research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and technologies that influence product direction.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to support architecture decisions, solution design, and effective product delivery.
  • Drive roadmap alignment across teams by prioritizing initiatives, managing backlogs, and ensuring delivery focuses on measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor product KPIs to evaluate performance, optimize value delivery, and support continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and strategic vendors to ensure successful product execution.
  • Oversee product budgets, including vendor contracts, infrastructure costs, and operational investments.
  • Promote product management best practices, agile ways of working, and a strong product mindset across teams.
  • Mentor and develop product talent while supporting career growth, succession planning, and the maturity of product capabilities.
  • Influence enterprise operating models by encouraging product-centric thinking and more efficient ways of working.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior product leader with extensive experience managing complex digital products, leading global teams, and driving technology transformation. You should have a strong understanding of enterprise platforms, agile delivery methods, and data-informed product decision-making.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product scoping, discovery, product strategy, and backlog ownership for digital products.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience coaching, mentoring, and leading global teams.
  • Proven experience applying Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe in product delivery environments.
  • Experience using product management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Aha!, or similar platforms to manage requirements, roadmaps, and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, human-centered design principles, UX/UI practices, and digital product experiences.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, customer insights, and performance metrics to guide prioritization and product decisions.
  • Experience managing or influencing enterprise infrastructure product strategies, including cloud, compute, storage, and hosting platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation practices using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or GitOps.
  • Experience working with enterprise technology environments including Linux, Windows, databases, storage, compute, or mainframe platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
