Job Description

About the Role:

The Qualified Mental Health Specialist plays a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals across diverse populations within the Cincinnati Market. This position is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing individualized treatment plans to support clients' mental health and well-being. The specialist collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care and effective intervention strategies. They also provide counseling, crisis intervention, and education to clients and their families, promoting recovery and resilience. Ultimately, the role aims to improve clients' quality of life by addressing mental health challenges through evidence-based practices and compassionate care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing mental health services in clinical or community settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to comply with all relevant legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards in mental health care.
  • Must have NPI number and be Medicaid qualified.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, veterans, or individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Training in trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), or other evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Bilingual abilities or cultural competency training to better serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices and client goals.
  • Provide direct counseling and therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during acute mental health episodes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions and treatment plans.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
