Role Summary

S&P Consultants is currently seeking a Business Development Associate to serve in a critical frontline role supporting all aspects of the business development lifecycle. This includes identifying, qualifying, and nurturing new business opportunities to deliver ERP/EHR and related system implementations to Federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) clients.

Ideal candidates will have strong research and outreach skills, a sales mindset, and a keen interest in complex IT projects. In addition, the role will include tasks such as lead generation and qualification, proposal writing, and market analysis -- all aimed at expanding the company's presence in the FED/SLED sector and winning new business. These responsibilities include a significant amount of coordination, collaboration, and timeline management in a dynamic team environment.

Please note – the ideal candidate will have federal business development/capture experience. Knowledge of ERP and/or EHR business development is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Qualification:

  • Identify new FED/SLED business opportunities, with a focus on EHR and ERP modernization, implementation, and support
  • Initiate outbound outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to connect with procurement officers, program managers, and IT decision-makers
  • Qualify prospects based on need, budget, and alignment with company capabilities and priorities

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential government contract opportunities that align with the company's capabilities
  • Analyze competitor activities and industry trends to inform business strategies
  • Track government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and ensure timely submission of proposals

Proposal Support and Coordination:

  • Schedule discovery calls, demos, and strategic meetings between prospects and senior business development team and/or internal subject matter experts
  • Assist in early-stage capture activities, including gathering client intelligence, tracking pre-RFP signals, and shaping solution narratives
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, including gathering information, writing sections, and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Help develop and refine proposal strategies
  • Manage proposal documentation and ensure accurate and organized submissions

Market and Opportunity Monitoring:

  • Stay up to date on relevant government procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, GSA etc.) and identify new leads or RFI/RFP alerts
  • Provide summaries of potential opportunities and make recommendations on pursuit strategies

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, business process management, or lead generation -preferably in government contracting, consulting, technology, or healthcare
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional outreach style
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance of at least a public trust (this may be required for specific client engagements)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated prior success in generating and qualifying leads and/or managing sales processes through a full lifecycle
  • Prior exposure to EHR, ERP, or other large-scale technology implementation projects
  • Understanding of FED/SLED procurement and contracting processes
  • Familiarity with CRM systems

Additional Details

  • This is a remote position.
  • This role may require <20% travel (conferences, corporate meetings, vendor events etc.)
  • Salary at S&P is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected base compensation range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000 (annualized USD), accompanied by a competitive incentive program. This represents the estimated salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Additionally, S&P's total compensation package also includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401K, holidays, and paid time off. This posting will remain open for 120 days or until filled (note there may be numerous positions available under this singular job posting.)
