JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager will be responsible for overall performance for assigned project(s). A typical project will consist of the delivery of a repair solution involving process, tooling, and implementation documentation to address a specific customer requirement. The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of projects to execution metrics including but not limited to schedule performance, customer satisfaction, and estimated job cost and margin.

The Project Manager will be responsible for technical and commercial review of all work scope assignments and prepare project plan, schedule, and cost estimation to achieve the required project deliverables. The Project Manager should expect to manage approximately 5 to 10 projects of varying durations per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have schedule and cost management responsibility for the assigned project(s) to include cost estimation, project plan generation, and project delivery, to meet agreed-upon schedule and identified deliverables.

  • Regular reporting to management regarding project status, design and fabrication activity, and projects delivery (operations) status for the assigned projects.

  • Manage the project process and operational delivery through use of in-house resources, as needed, to fulfill customer requirements and achieve target goals for all projects.

  • Pre-bid project estimation and customer proposal preparation.

  • Contribute to ongoing customer technical relationships that can be leveraged to further the development of existing scopes and gain WSI exposure to increasing levels of business activity.

  • Develop project delivery schedules required to meet customer commitments.

  • Monitor and report on performance of all projects regarding quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage design review process for both internal and customer progress reporting:

  • Project kick-off meeting.

  • Preliminary review.

  • Intermediate reviews as needed.

  • Critical design review.

  • Project closure.

  • Ensure cost-accounting and technical documentation is properly closed and documented on assigned project.

  • Manage the field implementation of technical projects which may include extended travel to the construction site(s).

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, materials or welding engineering. Minimum experience 5 and up to 15 years.

  • Work experience in purchasing or transportation field preferred.

  • Project Cost Planning and Management

  • Strong technical aptitude (prior project design/development experience)

  • Project Management experience

  • Critical thinking and technical problem solving

  • Electromechanical knowledge

  • Customer contact experience

  • Familiarity with the nuclear power generation, refining, or fossil power generation customer base

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  • Good organization and planning ability

  • Procurement/subcontractor management

  • Experience in leading a technical project team with multiple disciplines

WORK ENVIRONMENT

General office environment. Travel approximately 15% to 40% of the time to customer sites which may include the construction site for the field implementation portions of some projects. Sitting for long periods at a computer. Standing, walking, sitting and lifting up to 30lbs.
