Primary Purpose of Position:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of demolition projects from pre-construction through to closeout. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance, while ensuring projects are executed efficiently and meet or exceed financial targets. This position will play a key role in supporting the company’s expansion into Edmonton, AB. To start, this position will be primarily site-based, working out of a project trailer, with a strong on-site presence required to support execution, team coordination, and client interaction. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.

Job Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of demolition projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Drive overall project profitability and accountability for financial performance
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
  • Build and manage project schedules, including resource planning and sequencing
  • Review project financials regularly and provide accurate reporting (weekly/monthly)
  • Prepare and manage progress billings
  • Lead coordination between field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide direction and support to Project Coordinators
  • Partner closely with Superintendents to monitor productivity and address performance gaps
  • Attend project start-up, progress, and close-out meetings
  • Oversee subcontractor management, including procurement, performance, and invoice approvals
  • Review contracts and manage changes, revisions, and claims as needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all work is executed with safety as the top priority
  • Collaborate with Health & Safety teams to uphold company and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial regulations and environmental requirements

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • PMP or equivalent certification considered a strong advantage
  • 8–12 years of Project Management experience, ideally within demolition or heavy civil/construction
  • Strong understanding of demolition methods, sequencing, and site operations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on tight timelines
  • Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Experience managing subcontractors, contracts, and client relationships
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and demolition-related legislation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive results through teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with tools such as Bluebeam, Vista by Viewpoint, or B2W is considered an asset

Work Conditions

  • This role is primarily site-based, with work conducted out of a project site trailer, especially during the initial phase of employment
  • Requires a strong on-site presence to support field operations, team coordination, and client interaction
  • Regular travel to active job sites is required
  • May involve occasional out-of-town travel depending on project location
