A division of 3D Corporate Solutions, our SC Pet Solutions, LLC plant is located in Ward, SC. We are currently seeking a Wastewater Technician on day or night shift with strong a strong mechanical background with the below qualifications. Here at SC Pet Food Solutions, working in Wastewater is a career. We will pay for your permitting, training and licenses. Pay is dependent on experience. The schedule will be a part of one of the below shifts as needed for relief:
Hourly Rate=Trainee at $17.80/hr advancing up to $33.70/hr with completion of A certification
SHIFT= Night (B shift) -SUN, MON and TUES 6pm-6am (every other WED)
Summary
Responsible for the technical aspects of plant wastewater operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Environmental & Land Manager, subject to review through testing and reports.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Perform analyses, recording measurements/actions in applicable record logs.
- Recognize unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating conditions and be able to take immediate actions.
- Able to troubleshoot and has a basic understanding of process flow and mechanical functions.
- Familiar with basic chemicals, chemical compounds, and reactions.
- Inspect equipment and perform routine cleaning/ preventive maintenance.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Monitor and regulate waste treatment discharge to align with all applicable regulations.
- Ability to keep working relationships, communicate effectively and work with minimum supervision.
- Experience in manufacturing environment for +1 year.
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, belts, and other parts of the wastewater process
- Perform extensive and in-depth preventive maintenance inspections, checks, and services
- Current license in biological wastewater treatment and/or the ability to obtain a license within one year.
- Knowledge of process chemicals; dangers associated with safely handling hazardous chemicals.
- Solid understanding of operation, methods, and procedures of waste treatment.
- General arithmetic
- Reach, grasp, lift 35 Ibs, and push/pull/slide heavy material
- Make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.
- Stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Demonstrated skill as a forward thinker with an ability to learn
- Problem-solving skills are a must
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a Wastewater Operator’s A, B, C or D license
- Experience in Wastewater
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Understanding of cause and effect of all downstream operations
- Mechanical aptitude for machine operation
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as well as printed machine manual of operation
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Walk / stand 100% of time during a 12–hour shift.
- Must be able to work in a hot humid environment for up to 12 hours at a time
- Must be able to stand, climb stairs, ladders, etc up to 80% of the time
- Work in an environment directly affected by weather outside.
