The Event and PR Manager will primarily work out of ePac’s Chicago, IL or Austin, TX location, and may also work from a home-based office, as required and approved by ePac management.

This role has a salary range of $70 - 80k depending on skills and experience, with a generous leave and benefits package.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Events & PR Manager will play a critical role in driving brand visibility, industry engagement, and lead generation for ePac Flexible Packaging. This individual will own the planning, execution, and optimization of our trade show presence, customer and internal events, public relations initiatives, and industry award programs.

This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong project management, communication, and storytelling skills, with a focus on delivering measurable impact across brand awareness, pipeline generation, and market positioning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Trade Show Management & ExecutionOwn end-to-end planning and execution of ~10+ national and regional trade shows annually (e.g., Expo West, Fancy Foods, key vertical events)Coordinate booth strategy, logistics, staffing, and on-site execution to ensure a best-in-class brand presencePartner with Sales to align pre-show outreach, meeting scheduling, and post-show follow-up workflowsManage vendors, booth assets, shipping, and timelines across all eventsTrack and report on trade show ROI, including leads generated, pipeline contribution, and cost efficiencyTravel to and attend key events, ensuring seamless execution and team coordination on-site

2. Event Planning & Coordination

Plan and execute a variety of events, including customer events, webinars, internal meetings, sales kickoffs, and executive eventsDevelop event strategies aligned to marketing and sales priorities (lead generation, customer engagement, brand building)Manage event budgets, timelines, vendors, and logisticsCoordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Leadership)Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and experience across all eventsMeasure and report on event performance and impact

3. Public Relations (PR) Program Management

Own and execute ePac’s PR strategy to increase brand awareness and industry visibilityDraft and distribute press releases, media pitches, and thought leadership contentBuild and manage relationships with industry media, editors, and journalistsIdentify and secure speaking opportunities, media placements, and contributed contentPartner with internal stakeholders to develop compelling stories (product launches, expansions, customer success, innovation)Track PR performance, including media coverage, impressions, and share of voice

4. Industry Association Coordination, Awards Strategy & Submissions

Identify relevant industry associations and groups across key verticals (CPG, packaging, sustainability, innovation) and collaborate with internal teams to maximize value in our expenditures and involvement with relevant trade associations and groupsDevelop a strategic calendar of opportunities aligned with company prioritiesIdentify relevant industry awards across key verticals (CPG, packaging, sustainability, innovation)Lead the creation and submission of award entries, including writing compelling narratives and coordinating supporting materials. Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, case studies, and proof pointsTrack submissions, wins, and recognition to maximize promotional value

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.5+ years of experience in events, PR, or integrated marketing roles (B2B or CPG experience preferred)Proven track record managing trade shows and large-scale eventsStrong writing and storytelling skills (press releases, award submissions, media pitches)Excellent project management and organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentExperience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing leadership teamsWillingness to travel (approximately 20–30%)
