Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Team BOM Specialist for our Havelock NC program office location.
The Procurement Team BOM Creator will act as a critical link between Engineering, Procurement, and Programs, responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support sourcing, procurement, and program execution; ensuring Buyers have complete technical data while maintaining data integrity, traceability, and compliance with aerospace standards in coordination with engineering, quality, and operation management. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of aerospace industry experience with direct procurement and engineering support.

Primary Responsibilities:
- BOM Development & Maintenance
- Create, release, and maintain Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) from engineering drawings and blueprints, models, and technical directives (TDs).
- Structure BOMs to align with manufacturing and procurement requirements.
- Ensure proper identification of part numbers, revisions, NSNs, materials, and units of measure.
- Support Program and Operations Management teams providing status updates, impacts and potential delays. Assist on weekly reporting status updates and tracking.
- Procurement Team Focused Support
- Provide Buyers with validated BOM packages, including complete sourcing data, approved suppliers, and long-lead item identification.
- Support procurement planning by highlighting obsolete, long-lead, or sole-source parts.
- Generate and maintain procurement-ready BOM reports for sourcing events and RFP/RFQ packages.
- Engineering Interface
- Collaborate with FST Engineering to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Incorporate engineering changes into BOMs, ensuring revision control and configuration accuracy.
- Resolve discrepancies between engineering data and supply chain requirements.
- Supporting FST Engineering on Rapid Support BOM creating and Quotes.
- Compliance & Traceability
- Ensure BOMs comply with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and program-specific requirements.
- Differentiate between serialized, flight-critical, and consumable parts for proper documentation.
- Maintain traceability of part sources, alternates, and revisions for procurement audits.
- Process & Data Management
- Utilize ERP/MRP/PLM systems (e.g., COSTPOINT) to manage BOMs.
- Support cost roll-ups, procurement planning, and material forecasting.
- Assist in continuous improvement of BOM management processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years Aerospace, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of experience in BOM creation, supply chain, or technical data management (preferably aerospace/defense).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical directives, and material specifications.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP/PLM systems (Cost Point).
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suites skills (Excell, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Knowledge of aerospace material and part compliance standards (AS9100, ITAR, DFARS).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large, complex data.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated and Self Starter work approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NSN/CAGE coding, MIL-SPEC parts, and aerospace supply chain standards.
- Experience with Engineering Change Management and configuration control processes.
- Knowledge of kitting, material planning, and production BOM structures.
- Security clearance (or ability to obtain, if required by contract).
- Experience working with Buyers, Sourcing, or Contracts teams in a DoD or aerospace environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
- Position involves long periods of standing, or sitting at a desk environment.
- FIT for Duty Physical may be required.
Location & Work Hours:
- Havelock NC – In Office Position Only
- M -F 7 AM – 3:30 PM or 8 AM – 4:30 PM
