UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is looking to hire a full time Physician Assistant for Lindsey Clark, MD. Dr. Clark is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon whose clinical practice focuses on orthopaedic spine conditions and spine trauma. Job Description

The Physician Assistant is responsible for promoting and maintaining health by providing quality medical services under the supervision of a Physician through the identification of short-term and long-range patient care issues and recommending options and course of action while implementing physician directives.

Duties

• Elicits a detailed and accurate patient health history and performs a physical examination; records these along with progress notes in the patient’s charts.
• Determines abnormal conditions by ordering diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRI's, EMG's and basic laboratory studies and interprets test results.
• Formulates an initial diagnosis, therapeutic plan and treatment.
• Provides staple and suture removal.
• Performs such routine therapeutic procedures as intramuscular injections, wound care, joint aspirations, and joint injections.
• Answers all patients phone calls regarding the clinic. Triages as appropriate.
• Completes all forms and required paperwork.
• Facilitate referrals when needed.
• Performs as first or second surgical assist during surgeries.
• Complies with Federal, State, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by obtaining required CME’s, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
• Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient and Company information through the adherence of all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Assumes other duties as requested by Physician.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements
  1. Master’s degree, along with successful completion of a NYS or ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Program. Must Possess NYS licensure upon hire.
• Experience Requirements
  1. Background in orthopaedics preferred, however not required.

  1. Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must be able to multi-task and desire to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
