Responsible for assuring the delivery of quality nursing care for a designed school and/or group of students/parents/staff in a specified community setting. Responsible for growth and development of outreach programs in the community that will foster improved health and wellness.

Responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to students, families, and school staff while advancing community outreach programs that promote health and wellness. This role includes providing clinic-based services such as assessments, screenings, and immunizations—including mobile immunization clinics at schools—connecting families to community resources, and delivering health education (e.g., middle school programming, asthma management, prevention, and safety initiatives). Experience working with school-aged children and families, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with schools, community partners, and interdisciplinary teams are essential.

Must obtain Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within three years of employment or will not be eligible to continue in the role. Coursework is completed outside of work hours. Nurses with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), hired/rehired or transferred from a non-nursing position prior to 12/1/17 are grandfathered into the role and not required to obtain BSN.
