I. JOB PURPOSE

The Plating Operator 2 immerses objects to be coated or plated into chemical solutions with conductive solutions to prepare them for plating. The Plating Operator immerses work pieces in coating solutions for specified times. The Plating Machine Operator sets up, operates, or tends plating or coating machines to coat metal or plastic products.

II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assure product quality through continual evaluations of product for defects
• Identify materials through a BOM and utilize the ERP system to move materials in and out of production.
• Run sensitizing line, which includes transferring product and solution into the bonding vessels
• Empty bonding vessels, rinse and dry per procedure
• Run chloride line, immersing product into a chemical solution and follow rinsing and drying process
• Complete all associated documentation (Shop orders, checklists, and all other related records)
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including training and proper use of PPE.
• Meet and exceed all performance standards in all Plating, Etching and Tumbling operations
• Perform routine tests to assure product quality (Electrical, Ohms, Dimensions, and other related tests)
• Recommend improvements to process and product
• Ensure that all documentation is accurate before, during and at final process.
• Report all equipment and quality issues to area leader
• Train and transfer knowledge, expertise, and functional operation of product lines to new and current employees.
• Understand our Quality Policy, Statement and Objectives and maintain a basic understanding of quality management systems related to ISO 13485
  

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions
• Proficient computer knowledge
• Basic knowledge of ERP system
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds safely and without injury.
• Previous chemical and or plating experience preferred.
