About the RoleOregon Sleep Associates is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Sleep Medicine Physician (MD or DO) to join our Portland clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with diverse sleep disorders, including insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, parasomnias, and restless leg syndrome. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans that support long‑term patient health.
This position requires a compassionate, detail‑oriented clinician who values high‑quality patient care, thorough assessment, and ongoing treatment support. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping patients restore healthy sleep patterns and improve their overall quality of life.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be willing to work on-site at our Portland, OR clinic
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Neurology, Family Medicine, or a related specialty
- Board certification or board eligibility in Sleep Medicine
- Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the United States (Oregon licensure required or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated clinical experience evaluating and managing sleep disorders
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, diagnostic sleep studies, and other relevant testing
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating behavioral interventions, PAP therapies, oral appliances, medication management, or other clinically appropriate methods
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment strategies, and manage any complications or therapy‑related concerns
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including pulmonologists, neurologists, behavioral health professionals, and sleep technologists—to ensure coordinated care
- Educate patients and families on sleep hygiene, lifestyle adjustments, treatment compliance, and disease prevention
- Stay current with emerging research, technologies, and evidence‑based practices in sleep medicine
- Contribute to clinical documentation, quality improvement efforts, and ongoing program development
Strong clinical skills in Sleep Medicine are essential for accurately interpreting sleep studies, diagnosing complex sleep disorders, and designing effective, personalized treatment plans. Preferred skills include experience with advanced diagnostic technologies, behavioral sleep therapies, and integrated care approaches. Excellent communication skills are critical for educating patients, coordinating with clinical teams, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality care.
