What Youll Do

Ensure security of assigned posts by staying alert and proactive in preventing emergencies and elopements. Monitor activities of individuals served, responding to and de-escalating disruptive or aggressive behavior. Operate and monitor facility security systems, including communications, surveillance, alarms, and perimeter systems. Conduct searches of individuals, living areas, and communal spaces to prevent contraband. Control and monitor all facility entry and exit points, verifying identification and ensuring compliance with security procedures. Respond to emergency calls, applying safe aggression-control techniques to protect individuals and staff. Inspect the facility environment for safety risks or hazards. Monitor vehicular traffic and maintain surveillance of parking areas. Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience

Completion of basic recruit training course(s) or equivalent as defined by state certification/licensing authority (required, if applicable) Licenses/Certifications
