About This Position
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team on our 1st or 2nd shift, which runs from 3:00pm to 11:30pm with a half hour lunch. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machining processes and techniques, with the ability to operate various manual machining equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality components for our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
• Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications.
• Utilize measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers to ensure accuracy in dimensions.
• Apply basic math skills for calculations related to machining tasks and measurements.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste in the machining process.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve product designs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Participate in training sessions for new technologies or processes as needed.
Experience
• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and specifications is preferred.
• Knowledge of electromagnetic brakes and clutches is a plus.
• Experience with welding techniques can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
