Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers was founded in 1976 as a family-owned complete auto care solution in South St. Louis, Missouri. Dobbs Tire and Auto is seeking a Assistant Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in supporting daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance in a fast-paced automotive repair environment. This position works closely with the Store and Service Managers to oversee shop workflow, ensure repair quality, and maintain high standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and communication skills with a solid understanding of automotive services and customer care. By assisting in team supervision, inventory management, and sales growth, the Assistant Store Manager helps create a positive, professional experience for both customers and employees.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist customers by assessing their automotive needs, recommending appropriate tires and services, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Support the Service Manager in daily shop operations while gaining comprehensive knowledge of service department functions.
- Supervise and support technicians, coordinate schedules, and maintain efficient workflow throughout the service area.
- Monitor repair quality, ensure timely completion of work orders, and resolve service-related issues promptly.
- Manage parts and supply inventory, including ordering, tracking, and proper storage of materials.
- Promote services, upsell repairs, and assist in achieving sales and profitability goals.
- Enforce all safety procedures, compliance standards, and company policies to maintain a safe, organized work environment.
- Perform general housekeeping and facility upkeep to ensure a clean, professional appearance of the store and service areas.
- Execute additional assignments and special projects as directed by store or service management.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 3+ year’s retail sales management experience. OR an Associate’s degree and 1+ year of retail sales management experience.
- Proficient use of tools and equipment used in the repair and servicing of automotive vehicles (will train).
- Valid Drivers’ Licenses
