Position Summary
The Banquet Housemen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all event setup, breakdown, room turnover, and related facility support operations within a 420,000-square-foot convention center. This role supports conventions, trade shows, banquets, meetings, and public events by ensuring spaces are prepared according to approved floor plans, cleanliness standards, and operational requirements. The Supervisor ensures strict adherence to timelines, safety standards, custodial readiness, and overall operational efficiency in a fast-paced, large-scale environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise all aspects of event setup, show move-ins, show days, and move-outs
Interpret and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), diagrams, and detailed floor plans
Coordinate staffing and logistics for multiple concurrent events and tight turnaround schedules
Ensure accurate placement of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, and other event equipment
Lead and direct event staff through pre-shift meetings and on-site supervision
Enforce safety protocols, proper lifting techniques, and facility standards
Manage equipment inventory, storage, and movement throughout the facility
Conduct pre-event and post-event inspections to ensure quality and compliance
Troubleshoot and resolve last-minute operational challenges in real time
Communicate effectively with operations management, event services, and clients as needed
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods across a large facility
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50–75 pounds
Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach overhead
Work Schedule
This position requires flexibility, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts, based on event schedules and operational needs.
