Our Public Health and Human Services department is currently accepting applications for two Mental Health Professionals in Duluth, Minnesota. These positions are located in different divisions within our Public Health & Human Services Department. For additional details on each position please review the bullet points below.

• Public Health & Human Services Mental Health Police division -This Mental Health Professional will work with people who have serious and persistent Mental Illness and substance use disorders as an embedded member of the Duluth Police Department's Behavioral Health Unit. This position is out in the community working with people in all kinds of settings providing support, assessing, problem solving and connecting with services. This position will be housed at the Duluth Transit Authority in Duluth.
• Public Health & Human Services TACT division - This Mental Health Professional will work with people who have serious and persistent mental illness as a TACT team member. This position will provide case management and therapy to TACT participants. This position is out in the community working with people in all kinds of settings providing support, assessing, problem solving and connecting with services. The position is housed at the Human Development Center in Duluth.
  

The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $31.36 - $48.84 per hour.

This position is part of the Merit Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement Contract represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

Please Note: These positions offer a 37.5-hour work week for a total of 75 hours per pay period.

An employee in this class is responsible for providing mental health services to prevent, diagnose, and treat mental, behavioral and emotional disorders in individuals, families and groups. Duties include conducting individual, family and group counseling and psychotherapy to children and adults; conducting couples counseling; consulting with human service professionals; conducting observations; preparing written reports and making recommendations. The delivery of clinical services may occur in the home of the person receiving services, or in alternative locations. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree.
• Possession of a current valid license as a Mental Health Professional according to Minnesota Statute.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

RATING SYSTEM:
Supplemental Questions will be 100% of the scoring process:
Points will be awarded based on the applicants answers to supplemental questions 12-16.
