About the Role:

The Computer System Analyst II plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions within an organization. This position involves analyzing existing computer systems and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency. The analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, design system modifications, and ensure that technology implementations align with organizational goals. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting system issues, optimizing performance, and supporting the deployment of new applications or upgrades. Ultimately, this role ensures that computer systems effectively support business operations and contribute to overall organizational success.

Education: See Months/Years of Experience

Months/Years of Experience: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university and three (3) years of applicable experience; an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline and five (5) years of applicable experience; or seven (7) years of applicable experience. Applicable experience includes performing software development, analysis, integration and related functions for research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems; analysis and design of application interfaces and integration; translation of user requests and processes into detailed functional and technical specifications; and development of interface specifications, report guidance lines and formats, policies, procedures, and system documentation.

Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizen. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar.
• Provide end-user support on IT systems and assets including hardware, OS, printing, and networking.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages like Python, Java, or PowerShell.
• Install IT systems and assets ensuring compliance with IT Security Policy, Documentation Policy, and Service Level Agreements.
• Execute duties on Information Systems (IS) within test environments and shall include determining mitigations for identified vulnerabilities, troubleshooting IT problems, assisting with planning test capability setup, maintaining RTC test and mission capability accreditations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of current computer systems and workflows to identify areas for enhancement.
• Collaborate with business units to gather and document system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, test, and implement system modifications or new applications to meet business needs.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to manage system upgrades, integrations, and deployments.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and user guides.
• Train end-users and provide technical assistance to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or features.
• Monitor system performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and security.

The required skills enable the analyst to effectively evaluate and improve computer systems by understanding both technical and business perspectives. Analytical skills are used daily to dissect complex workflows and identify system inefficiencies.
