About the Position
The Benefits Manager is responsible for the implementation, administration, and ongoing management of comprehensive employee benefit programs across the ArchKey Solutions platform. This role ensures benefit programs are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective while supporting the Company's ability to attract, retain, and motivate a diverse workforce. The Benefits Manager serves as a subject matter expert on all benefit-related matters, leads benefit communications and education, partners closely with leadership and external vendors, and benchmarks programs against peer organizations to assess competitiveness and emerging trends. This position also ensures all benefit initiatives, compliance requirements, and departmental objectives are achieved on time and in alignment with Company policies, business objectives, and applicable regulations

Day in the Life
- Serves as the Company's primary benefits administrator, responsible for implementation, and administration of all group benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, retirement (401(k)), and other employee benefit offerings.
- Assists with benefit plan renewals, vendor selection, rate negotiations, plan design changes, additions, and terminations in alignment with organizational strategy, workforce needs, and cost containment objectives.
- Analyzes benefit utilization, claims experience, regulatory requirements, and competitive market trends to ensure programs are compliant, competitive, sustainable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Oversees employee eligibility, enrollment, and life event changes; ensures accurate, timely processing and administration of benefit transactions across all plans and systems.
- Plans, manages, and executes annual open enrollment, including vendor coordination, system configuration, employee communications, education initiatives, and post-enrollment audits.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations by monitoring legislative changes, coordinating with legal counsel, consultants, and brokers, enforcing compliance standards, and advising leadership on required actions.
- Directs and oversees benefit-related compliance audits, regulatory filings, and reporting requirements, including ACA reporting and disclosures; serves as a subject matter expert for audits and information requests.
- Maintains accurate, confidential, and compliant benefit and employee data within HRIS and related systems, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and security controls.
- Oversees the development, review, and distribution of benefit and compliance documentation, including Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), enrollment materials, policies, and employee communications, in alignment with Company branding and communication standards.
- Establishes, manages, and evaluates relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, consultants, and third-party administrators; monitors vendor performance against service-level agreements and resolves escalated issues.
- Provides ongoing benefits education and guidance to employees and managers, including claims resolution, benefit inquiries, and decision support.
- Supports the development and execution of wellness, employee engagement, and benefits communication strategies that promote utilization, understanding, and employee well-being.
- Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
- Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or comparable professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive, exempt-level benefits administration or consulting experience; experience in construction or a related industry strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefit plans and employment-related regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA/ADAA, EEO, and FLSA.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management, broker and insurer relationships, cost analysis and control, compliance oversight, and HRIS administration.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial reports, claims data, and utilization trends to develop strategic, data-driven recommendations.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders in a fast-paced, high-growth, and process driven environment.
- Highly effective verbal communicator and collaborator, capable of building credibility and strong relationships across all organizational levels and functions.
- Advanced presentation, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management, and influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex benefit concepts clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills with a high level of attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive results through collaboration, accountability, and effective execution.
