Riddle’s Jewelry is looking for a highly organized Assistant Buyer to help us execute merchandising strategies for our 60+ store locations. This role will provide support within the department to maintain ongoing operations. Depending on the level of experience, additional opportunities could include responsibility for managing designated merchandise programs or categories.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Assist Buyer in providing sales analysis, trend reports, product image catalogs and other information required to manage assortment plans
• Manage purchase order process including sku setup, order placement, receiving and vendor correspondence. Assist in vendor return processing and other general follow-up.
• Facilitate close communication with the store organization; respond to stores on an as needed basis to secure special orders or unique product requests
• Assist in developing planograms including mock case set-ups, photography, product lists and planogram instruction manuals
• Work with Marketing / Ecommerce team to ensure that products are featured on the website, social media and in ad vehicles. Assist Buyer in marketing process and product turn-in meetings.
• Attend vendor meetings with the Buyer to assist in new product development
• Organize vendor samples and product spec sheets to facilitate new product introductions
• Assist Buyer in conducting routine competitive shops (in-store, digital) in order to ensure market relevance
• Assist in managing designated product categories including assortment plans, inventory management, forecasting & replenishment, allocation and analysis
• Provide support to other areas within the department as defined by the Buyer

Qualifications:

• Detail-oriented, self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills

• Demonstrated time management; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent critical thinking, decision making, and analytical skills

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Passion for learning about the latest jewelry fashions and product trends
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and other MS Office Suite applications

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Merchandising, Business, Economics or Marketing is preferred
• Two years’ experience in the Merchandising or Retail industry is preferred
• Ability to thrive in a corporate office environment
