Purpose of the Role

The Buyer plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operation and business objectives by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This role helps maintain strong supplier partnerships, supports company quality standards, and contributes directly to operational efficiency and cost management.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with operations to ensure materials are aligned with forecasted demand, production schedules, and overall business objectives.

• Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and forecasts to proactively manage supply needs.

• Purchase and expedite materials and services to support manufacturing and business plans.

• Communicate and manage supplier relationships and commitments.

• Track and update order status, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays.

• Research and select vendors, negotiate rates, and coordinate deliveries.

• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance for cost, quality, and service.

• Support cost reduction goals and maintain favorable pricing metrics.

• Uphold company quality standards and handle urgent procurement needs.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required.

• Bachelor’s degree or purchasing certification preferred.

• Knowledge of purchasing procedures and computer-based inventory systems.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with electronic and electromechanical components is preferred.

• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and internal teams.

• Proficiency with Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables) required.
