Job Title: Agronomy Application & Drone Technician
Division: Agronomy
Reports to: Location Managers/ VP of Agronomy
Summary: Works within the Agronomy Division supporting field and application operations. This role is responsible for operating agricultural spray drones and assisting with fertilizer and chemical application using spreaders and sprayers as needed. The position supports daily agronomy operations, maintains equipment and records, follows all safety and regulatory requirements, and assists locations during peak application seasons. This role is hands-on and field-based, working closely with location managers and agronomy staff to ensure accurate, safe, and timely application services while representing Ag Plus in a professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
• Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
• Read and follow company employee policies.
• Promotes and supports Ag Plus’ grain and agronomy programs.
• Maintain all records required by OSHA or Ag Plus’ safety procedures.
• Promotes Ag Plus’ products and services to customers.
• Operates agricultural spray drones in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and application label requirements.
• Assists with fertilizer and chemical application using spreaders, sprayers, and other agronomy equipment as needed.
• Supports daily agronomy operations, including application preparation, field setup, and post-application cleanup.
• Accurately follows application recommendations, maps, prescriptions, and label directions.
• Maintains drone equipment, application equipment, and support vehicles to ensure safe, clean, and working conditions.
• Complies with all safety, environmental, DOT, and FAA regulations, including proper handling and storage of chemicals.
• Loads, unloads, and transports fertilizer, chemicals, and equipment as needed.
• Assists location managers and agronomy staff during peak seasons to meet operational demands.
• Monitors inventory levels related to application operations and communicates needs to management.
• Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas both indoors and outdoors.
• Performs basic mechanical checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisor responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in agriculture is required. A two- or four-year degree in agriculture is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Valid Driver’s License & ability to pass DOT physical
Optional:
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications or be willing to:
o FAA Part 107
o Applicator licenses
- Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Material Endorsement- or willing to obtain

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee will regularly work outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, and other environmental elements.
Monday - Friday 7:30a-5p Saturday & Sunday- Seasonally as needed (Mandatory OT)
