The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a nonprofit, mission-driven organization founded upon Jewish ethics and values. Position Summary

The Fitness & Wellness Success Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring an outstanding member experience within the Levine JCC Fitness & Wellness Department. This position supports member engagement, retention, and satisfaction by providing personalized onboarding for new members, guiding individuals through available fitness and wellness opportunities, and connecting members to appropriate programs and staff across the organization.

The Coordinator serves as a relationship-builder within the fitness center, supporting members as they begin or expand their wellness journeys while helping them navigate the wide range of programs and services offered at the Levine JCC.

This role also supports the day-to-day operations of the David Silverman Fitness Center by supervising fitness floor staff, assisting with personal training placement, maintaining safe and welcoming fitness spaces, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the fitness center.

Key Responsibilities

New Member Onboarding & Success

• Serve as the primary point of contact for fitness and wellness onboarding for new Levine JCC members.

• Meet with new members to introduce them to the fitness center and the full range of fitness and wellness opportunities available at the Levine JCC.

• Conduct individualized onboarding sessions to help members identify goals and develop an initial plan for engaging with fitness and wellness programs.

• Work with Member & Guest Services Associates to schedule onboarding appointments when new members join.

• Conduct weekly outreach to new members who have not yet scheduled an onboarding appointment, helping ensure that every new member is welcomed and supported.

• Connect members to relevant staff and programs across departments based on their interests, including personal training, group exercise, aquatics, racquet sports, and other wellness offerings.

• Provide complimentary fitness center orientations to ensure members feel confident using equipment and navigating the facility. • Support ongoing member engagement by meeting with existing members to discuss fitness goals and recommend appropriate programs or services.

Personal Training & Fitness Service Coordination

• Conduct intake conversations with prospective personal training clients and match them with appropriate trainers.

• Share relevant information with trainers to support effective first appointments.

• When appropriate, provide members with a starter fitness routine to follow prior to beginning personal training.

• Assist personal trainers with voucher redemption and monitor training package usage in coordination with the Director of Fitness & Wellness. Fitness Center Operations & Staff Support

• Provide leadership and supervision for Fitness Floor Associates, ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming environment for members and guests.

• Develop and manage the monthly schedule for Fitness Floor Associates, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage.

• Train and support Fitness Floor Associates to provide high-quality member assistance and fitness orientations.

• Maintain the Fitness Center operations manual and ensure clear communication of procedures to staff.

• Support the Director of Fitness & Wellness in coordinating departmental operations and assisting other wellness staff, including trainers, instructors, and program managers. Facility Oversight & Member Experience

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized fitness environment.

• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to ensure equipment and spaces are in good working condition and free of safety concerns.

• Ensure fitness areas including studios, fitness center floor, track, and gyms are properly maintained and stocked.

• Assist with the upkeep of the Adult and Family Locker Rooms, including steam rooms, saunas, and restoration spaces.

• Ensure towels and supplies are stocked and spaces remain welcoming for members.

• Regularly clean equipment, restock wipe dispensers, and engage with members throughout shifts. Safety, Service & Operations Support

• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) when needed and respond appropriately to accidents, incidents, or emergencies. • Monitor usage of the fitness center and proactively address member concerns or operational issues.

• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed when scheduled for these shifts.

• Foster an inviting and welcoming atmosphere aligned with Levine JCC values and commitment to community. Organizational Engagement

• Support and participate in Levine JCC events and initiatives across the organization, such as community programs and special events (e.g., Purim Carnival, Kids Triathlon).

• Contribute to a culture of collaboration and service across departments.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Demonstrated commitment to excellent member service and relationship-building.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle member concerns with professionalism and diplomacy.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to build relationships with members.

• Leadership and supervisory skills for supporting fitness floor staff.

• Ability to communicate effectively with members of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.

• Knowledge of fitness equipment and wellness programming.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

• Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions, or willingness to learn.
