Job Description

Position Summary:

The Hospitality Aides at Lloydminster Region Housing Group o/a Pioneer Lodge and House will work as part of our team to provide support services to the residents. Responsible for day-to-day tasks involved with cleaning, sanitization, and laundry, while providing exceptional hospitality services. Hospitality Aides will provide vital, essential services within Pioneer Lodge and House and will model a healthy culture in accordance with the Purpose, Mission, and Core Values of LRHG.

Hospitality Aide services include vacuuming and sweeping floors, dusting and wiping down surfaces in common areas, bedrooms, and living spaces, cleaning bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers, and emptying garbage and waste bins. Standard Laundry services include collecting and laundering bed linens, pillowcases, towels, and personal laundry items, returning them neatly folded and ready for Resident use.

Hospitality Aides will work in both Housekeeping and Dining, supporting meal service, assisting residents during mealtimes, maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, and ensuring a positive and welcoming dining experience.

Responsible to: The Hospitality Supervisor will be responsible for all Hospitality Aides.. The Hospitality Supervisor may periodically assign additional duties not outlined below.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with seniors, Brain Injury, Mental Health is an asset
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Has interpersonal skills and will work from a team plan and/ or independently.
  • Willing to work with flexible housekeeping plans when circumstances require change.
  • Available for scheduled Days/ Evenings/ Nights/ Weekends/ Stat Holidays etc.
  • Has a positive, pleasant, willing and courteous attitude.
  • Willing to maintain annual competencies, as required for the job.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of daily duties, as required for the job.
  • Ability to navigate resident concerns that can be physiologically demanding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will follow the Policies & Procedures of Lloydminster Region Housing Group, o/a Pioneer Lodge and House, and the Hospitality Department.
  • Will conduct themselves in a polite & professional manner, treating staff, residents, families, and volunteers with dignity and respect.
  • Will prioritize the health, safety & general well-being of residents.
  • Will use the communication tools provided to access & share information.
  • Will be responsible for the general cleanliness of the Pioneer, including but not limited to resident rooms, common rooms, washrooms, entryways, stairwells, and offices.
  • General cleaning will include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitization, emptying garages, deep cleaning suites, washing windows, changing linens/beds, etc.
  • Will complete all laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, pressing, delivering etc.
  • Will complete all duties on the Shift Task Lists in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Assist residents moving rooms including packing and moving furniture.
  • Will respond to resident alerts as required.
  • Will provide support & assistance, as needed, to all members of the Pioneer Team.
  • Will assist in training and orientation staff as needed.
  • Will participate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
  • Follows all Emergency Response Plans, Infection Prevention and Controls protocols, WHMIS and OHS processes, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Maintain training as required by LRHG/Pioneer Lodge and House including WHMIS, OHS, MIP, Dementia training, and others as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality of LRHG o/a Pioneer Lodge and House including but not limited to accountability of all staff. Breach of confidentiality is serious and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Dining Duties:
    • Assist with meal service, including setting tables, delivering meals, and supporting residents during meal times.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of dining rooms, kitchenettes, and meal service areas.
    • Ensure safe food-handling practices and follow all dining-related protocols.
  • Will complete additional tasks as assigned.
