Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner at Wesleyan College serves as the primary clinical provider for the campus community, delivering accessible medical care to students. In addition to direct patient care, this individual is responsible for the daily administrative management of the health clinic, including procurement, regulatory compliance, and inventory oversight. This position is for 25 hours per week at $60 per hour.
Primary Clinical Responsibilities
Direct Student Care: Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for common, non-life-threatening illnesses and minor injuries during designated clinic hours.
Physical Examinations: Perform routine physical exams and review student health histories and immunization records for compliance.
Women’s Health & Wellness: Offer specialized care, including reproductive health services, counseling, and health education tailored to the Wesleyan student body.
Case Management & Referrals: Coordinate off-campus referrals for chronic conditions or diagnostic tests beyond the clinic's scope.
Physician Collaboration: Work in conjunction with the on-campus physician (available by appointment) to ensure continuity of care.
Reports to: the office of Student Affairs, Assistant Dean of Student Support, Health and Wellness
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Clinic Management: Oversee the daily operations of the clinic within the Olive Swann Porter building.
Ordering & Procurement: Manage the selection, ordering, and receipt of medical supplies, medications, and laboratory materials.
Inventory & Budgeting: Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with department budgeting to ensure essential supplies are always available.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the clinic adheres to Georgia Nurse Practice Act regulations, HIPAA standards, and institutional health policies.
Programming & Outreach: Coordinate health education programs and wellness initiatives on campus.
Required Qualifications
Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Current Georgia APRN license and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) certification.
Supervision: Must maintain a current collaborative agreement with a licensed physician as required by Georgia law.
Experience: Previous experience in primary care or college health, with demonstrated ability to manage clinic administrative tasks.
