Description:

Bestway Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Janitorial Project Manager to oversee a large commercial account in the Nashville area.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the account, including staffing, employee supervision, quality, customer service, scheduling, timekeeping, reporting, and ensuring contractual service requirements are consistently met.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who is comfortable managing employees across multiple shifts, developing supervisors and frontline employees, and maintaining a strong presence within the operation. This role requires someone who can balance administrative responsibilities with being actively involved in the operation and stepping in to support the team when needed.

Compensation

Starting salary: $55,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and service delivery across multiple shifts.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Manage employee schedules, staffing levels, call-outs, attendance, and shift coverage.
  • Maintain appropriate management presence across shifts and adjust your schedule based on operational needs.
  • Review and maintain accurate employee timekeeping and payroll information.
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees with Corporate.
  • Monitor quality through inspections, follow-up, and corrective action.
  • Oversee commercial floor-care operations, including scheduling, employee assignments, quality, and completion of floor projects.
  • Ensure floor-care employees are properly trained and provide hands-on support when needed.
  • Maintain required operational, quality, safety, and contract documentation.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports within required deadlines.
  • Develop work plans, assign responsibilities, track progress, and ensure work is completed.
  • Maintain regular communication with the customer and respond to concerns promptly.
  • Address employee performance and attendance concerns consistently and appropriately.
  • Escalate significant employee, safety, customer, or operational concerns when appropriate.
  • Partner with Corporate Operations, Administration/HR, Quality, and other support departments.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and customer expectations are consistently followed.
Requirements:
  • High school Diploma or possession of a GED is required. A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or environmental services management is required.
  • Commercial janitorial, custodial, facilities services, or similar service-industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing employees across multiple shifts preferred.
  • Commercial floor-care experience, including knowledge of floor-care equipment, processes, and quality standards, strongly preferred.
  • Experience training or supervising employees performing floor-care work preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with employee scheduling, staffing, timekeeping/payroll, performance management, and operational reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with customers and resolving service concerns.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and electronic reporting systems.
  • Willingness to provide hands-on operational support when needed.

Schedule

This position is primarily Monday through Friday, first shift; however, the Project Manager is responsible for an account that operates across multiple shifts. Schedule flexibility is required based on the needs of the account, including periodic second-shift/evening presence and occasional schedule adjustments to support staffing, training, customer, and operational needs.
