Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Kitchen Management in a high-volume, from-scratch kitchen.
  • Ability to track and effectively manage cost of goods and services.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds safely.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchen while actively working alongside the kitchen team.
  • Mentor, train, coach, and motivate kitchen team members while providing clear direction, feedback, and accountability.
  • Partner with the General Manager on staffing, scheduling, labor, kitchen operations, and overall performance.
  • Perform all BOH duties, including ingredient preparation, cooking, plating, portioning, station setup, dishes and stocking.
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, ordering, inventory management, and labor control.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
  • Follow established recipes, portion guidelines, and kitchen procedures to ensure consistent food quality and preparation.
  • Manage inventory and product ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels, control costs, and minimize waste.
  • Monitor food quality, preparation, presentation, and adherence to established kitchen standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, sanitation, and kitchen presentation.
  • Manage multiple tasks and orders during service while maintaining speed, accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Prepare and portion ingredients for service and upcoming shifts; monitor product freshness, proper rotation, and waste.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with knives, kitchen equipment, and all kitchen stations necessary to support service.
  • Support overall restaurant operations and perform additional duties as required.
