Position Status: This position is contingent upon contract award and successful contract transition. Employment is also contingent upon the candidate's ability to satisfy all customer, contract, and security clearance requirements.
If awarded, this position is expected to be covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Compensation, benefits, and working conditions for covered positions will be administered in accordance with the applicable agreement and contract requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing custodial operations and personnel to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional manner. This position provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to custodial staff while ensuring cleaning services are performed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations. The Custodial Supervisor monitors work quality, coordinates staffing and schedules, and helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for facility occupants and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial personnel.
- Assign work tasks, monitor performance, and ensure custodial services are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to verify cleanliness, safety, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Ensure proper cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety practices are followed.
- Support staffing, scheduling, attendance tracking, and workforce coordination activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with the ordering and distribution of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Train and mentor custodial personnel on cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Address customer concerns, service requests, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.
- Support special cleaning projects, event support activities, and emergency response efforts as required.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with applicable contract requirements, organizational policies, and safety standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting custodial, janitorial, environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities support operations.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing custodial personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of custodial procedures, cleaning products, equipment, and safety practices.
- Experience conducting inspections and maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to coordinate work assignments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting federal government facilities contracts.
- Experience supervising custodial operations within large commercial, institutional, industrial, campus-style, or training environments.
- Knowledge of environmentally preferred cleaning practices and sustainability initiatives.
- Experience managing custodial inventories, equipment, and supply programs.
- OSHA 10-Hour certification.
- Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order management systems.
- Experience supporting event setups, special projects, or emergency response operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and requires frequent walking throughout facilities to supervise personnel, conduct inspections, and support custodial operations. The incumbent must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull supplies, equipment, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, varying weather conditions, and operational activities associated with custodial and facility support services. The incumbent must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all applicable safety procedures. Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, or extended work hours may be required to support operational requirements, special events, emergency response activities, or contract needs.

The compensation range provided for this position is intended as a general guideline. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, and business needs, consistent with applicable laws and contract requirements.

Positions covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), or other applicable contract requirements will be administered in accordance with those requirements. Compensation, benefits, and work rules for positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement will be governed by the applicable agreement.
