Located in Big Sky, Montana, Lone Mountain Ranch is a historic guest ranch situated on 148 acres in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. About the Role
The HR Generalist plays an important role in creating an exceptional employee experience from recruitment through onboarding and beyond. This position partners closely with leaders across the Ranch to recruit outstanding talent, support employees throughout their employment, and help ensure our HR operations run smoothly.
This is a highly collaborative position that combines recruiting, onboarding, employee support, HR administration, and operational coordination. No two days are exactly alike. One morning may be spent interviewing candidates, while the afternoon could involve coordinating uniforms, preparing orientation materials, answering employee questions, or assisting with seasonal hiring initiatives.
The ideal candidate is organized, personable, adaptable, and enjoys building relationships. They are equally comfortable working behind the scenes with details and systems as they are interacting with employees and hiring managers throughout the Ranch.
What You’ll Do- Recruit and hire exceptional candidates for seasonal and year-round positions.
- Manage the hiring process from job posting through onboarding.
- Coordinate interviews, hiring manager communication, and candidate follow-up.
- Conduct new hire onboarding and assist with employee orientation.
- Support employees with HR questions, forms, and day-to-day needs.
- Maintain employee records and ensure accurate HR documentation.
- Coordinate employee uniforms, name tags, and onboarding materials.
- Assist with employee housing coordination and seasonal arrivals.
- Help organize employee events, recognition programs, and engagement activities.
- Maintain recruiting partnerships with colleges, universities, and workforce programs.
- Assist with internship and externship recruitment efforts.
- Prepare training materials, presentations, and HR communications.
- Support compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Collaborate with managers across all departments to support staffing and employee success.
- Assist with special HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Previous Human Resources, Recruiting, Hospitality, or Administrative experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Professional judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong customer service mindset with a genuine desire to help others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR systems.
- Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
- Hospitality or seasonal recruiting experience is preferred but not required.
