Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted partner to employees and leadership across multiple operating companies within Steed Global. This position supports both our commercial concrete construction business and our equipment resale

business. This role is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR process development, and helping leaders navigate difficult employee situations while protecting both the company and its people. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, adapts quickly, and thrives in environments where no two days look the same.

Core Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage recruiting efforts from job posting through hiring.
  • Screen candidates and coordinate interviews.
  • Partner with leadership to identify hiring needs across multiple companies.
  • Build a strong candidate experience.
  • Help identify and hire individuals aligned with company values.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires across operating companies.
  • Ensure employee records and documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Manage employee transitions and offboarding processes.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify opportunities for improvement.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs.
  • Support annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefit questions.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers and vendors.

Employee Relations &; Leadership Support

  • Help leaders navigate employee issues, performance concerns, investigations, and difficult conversations.
  • Assist with documentation and HR best practices.
  • Support consistent and compliant decision-making.
  • Help protect the company while maintaining fairness and professionalism.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows and systems.
  • Develop and document procedures.
  • Build scalable processes to support growth.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the employee experience

Systems & Software

Preferred experience:

  • Paylocity
  • Employee Navigator
  • Google Workspace (Email, Calendar, Tasks, Sheets)
  • Microsoft Teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting multiple business units or locations.
  • HR experience within construction, equipment, skilled trades, or industrial environments
  • Experience coaching leaders through employee situations.
