JOB DESCRIPTION:
Operate heavy equipment in support of construction projects including grading, excavation, paving, and site preparation. This role plays a key part in maintaining productivity, jobsite safety, and quality standards while working closely with foremen and crew members in fast-paced field environments.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, rollers, or similar machinery
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Assist with site preparation, trenching, backfilling, and material placement
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with all OSHA and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with ground crews and foremen
- Help load, unload, and transport equipment as needed
- Report on mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of experience operating construction or heavy equipment
- Background in road and general construction preferred
- Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Have full use of arms and hands and the ability to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
- Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Carry tools and equipment.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl for long periods of time.
- Be able to see (naturally or with correction)
The environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, the job often involves all weather extremes. Work requires alert individuals with good balance, physical strength, and on-the-job training.
