Position Overview
The Nursing Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who provides both direct nursing care to assigned clients and supervision to nurses and unit clerks who work in the Residential schools and community program nursing offices.
Essential Functions
• Administer medications per physician's orders, transcribe physician's orders within established guidelines, and observe for adverse reactions to medications. Monitor for, document and report to physician all adverse reactions.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments for clients upon admission and annually thereafter.
• Develop a plan of care based on client needs and identify signicant medical issues on the treatment plan.
• Assess client behavior and evaluate mental status.
• Perform face-to-face assessments of clients following a physical restraint in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide on-going nursing care for KidsPeace clients per physician's order; e.g. vital signs, administration of immunizations, implementation of KidsPeace lab protocol and documenting all results in the client record in accordance with KidsPeace policies and procedures.
• Assist the Nurse Manager with supervision of nursing, unit clerk documentation in client record; maintenance of a system to evaluate professional performance and clinical competence; coordination of adequate staffing of nursing offices to assure 24/7 adminsitrative coverage of offices; delegation of duties oand responsibilities to promote efficient, reponsive client care; performance of Quality Assurance reviews; conducting of regular campus meetings; communication with other departments, outside healthcare facilities and the community to facilitate the coordination of quality client care, and oversight of orientation of new nurses and ongoing nursing supervision.
• Maintain awareness of the KidsPeace continuum of services and actively promote the internal transfer and referral of children and families whenever clinically indicated by attending bi-annual training on the continuum and communicating with associates between levels of care and actively seeking opportunities to share information about the continuum with consumers as evidenced by written documentation in the client record.
• Will be required to participate in an on call rotation.

Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, College or university and current valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania RN license required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing and minimum of three years experience in direct clinical service preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification required. Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
